I am! Fortunately, there are plenty of affordable indoor cycling options. Below I have wrapped up some of the latest and greatest (including the "free," type), so you can see how much you are saving. I have direct experience with most of these bikes and will update this post as I have been able to try others. For now, let’s talk about two key aspects that affect the price of internal rotation: screen and subscription.
The screen: Built-in / BYO?

The attractive feature of the Peloton bike is undoubtedly its integrated 21-inch HD touchscreen. It's so much more luxurious to browse Peloton classes, view your cycling stats or interact with a spacious scene like you see your screen instructors with them in the studio. Of course, that too is a big reason the bike is so expensive; Most competitors come with a small screen or none at all.For example, the Boflex C6 is priced at just $ 900, but does not come with any display. Instead, it has a boost for your tablet that integrates with third-party apps via Bluetooth. The small screen may not impress you much, but a tablet allows you to do other things besides watching class videos, such as watching books, streaming on Netflix, or going on virtual outdoor rides.
I’m not saying one is definitely better than the other - there are pros and cons to built-in and BYO screens.
Subscription: Mandatory or optional?
If the goal of buying home gym equipment is to avoid precious gym or class members, some of these bikes may scratch your head. As mentioned, Peloton charges $ 39 per month; Mike Fitness runs a little cheaper for $ 29, while Echelon's plans range from $ 20 to $ 40.

Unfortunately, this is corrupted by a bad interface. Scrolling is slow and complex, and there is no way to sort or search the content, which is not categorized in any meaningful way. So, if you want to find a yoga class, you have to scroll-roll-scroll the list until you finally find the yoga area. Fortunately, in addition to per-registered bike classes, iF it now offers live sessions as well.

Convenient to ride the bike, easy to adjust and very attractive, save on a chunky-looking hand-fitted screen. On the plus side, the screen can be rotated to any off-bike classes you want to take (although it can not be tilted, it is difficult to see during ground exercises).
I really wanted to allow trainers to ride on virtual global roads and tracks and control the bike’s inclination and resistance, avoiding hardware and iFit issues. If that kind of fitness experience impresses you, there is no better way than the S15i.

All the other bikes here have one thing in common: they tie you up effectively in their ecosystems, requiring a member to make full use of the hardware. Bowflex C6 - It can connect to various fitness applications including Peloton via Bluetooth. Add one to the lowest price of any “attached” bike and you’ve got a serious competitor.The included assembly manual provides very minimal actual instructions; It's mostly just a few maps. Using these, I was able to assemble the bike in about 45 minutes, with only a few head-scratching moments along the way. But Boflex should actually have a printed version of the complete manual available online. That guide also includes using the control panel, which is not specified in the print version. Still, there are almost no instructions on how to connect to Bluetooth.
The C6 Spin bike is a bit skinny, so less substantial than the more expensive bikes, but it often feels sturdy when you ride and is almost noiseless. The pedals have foot cages, but the clip-on can also be used on cycling shoes. I encountered a mechanical problem: my handle post tightened slightly, and even after fully tightening, thankfully it did not affect me while riding.
The tablet mount bothered me, which puts the screen at a very shallow angle and can't be adjusted. That mount sits beyond the bike's control panel, which comes alive as soon as you start pedaling and shows six key measurements: time, calories, speed, distance, resistance level and pulse. Pulse readings come from an included rechargeable forearm monitor. Also included: a pair of 3-pound weights and two room water bottle holders.
As mentioned above, the C6 works with a wide variety of third-party applications. I tried a few, including Peloton and Boflex 'own Explore the World. The latter takes you on virtual rides around the world, matching video playback to your pedaling speed, but nowhere near what is called fulcas. You can try these and other applications to find everything you want during your indoor workout sessions.
That flexibility, coupled with the relatively low cost of the engine, makes the C6 a great choice for the budget-minded biker.

A newcomer to the market, Myx Fitness offers the closest thing I've seen yet to a straight-up Peloton clone: a bike with a 21.5-inch screen and original, in-house fitness programming. The pricing is decidedly different, however, as the Myx costs just $1,199, with a monthly membership fee of $29. So while it's not the least expensive option in the roundup, it offers considerable value. Update, June 16: Now through July 31, use the code CNET150 at checkout for $150 off the Myx, bringing the total hardware cost to $1,050.
I'd skip the $1,499 Myx Plus, however, which adds only accessories like mats and weights that, frankly, aren't worth the money for an indoor exercise bike. You could buy the same gear piecemeal for the same or less.
The exercise bike itself is as solid as they come, with reversible pedals (toe-cages on one side, shoe-clips on the other), handlebar height and depth adjusters and a monitor that can tilt and pivot. This last represents a huge advantage over Peloton, as it allows you to point the screen in different directions for off-bike classes. NordicTrack's S15i does likewise -- but costs $400 more and has a smaller screen.
Although the exercise bike can track your heart rate (courtesy of an included Polar armband monitor), it doesn't collect or display cycling data such as speed, distance or resistance. That means instructors don't throw out numbers ("Speed up to 22!") during classes; instead, the guidance is more along the lines of, "OK, let's increase the resistance a little." You'll have to decide whether or not those metrics are important to the experience.
You'll also have to decide if live classes are something you want; Myx offers only on-demand sessions, with no plans to match Peloton's live ones. This is largely a matter of personal preference, but I liked the prerecorded Myx workouts I tried: It felt like I was one-on-one with a personal trainer instead of being just a random person in a big group. Similarly, I liked the metrics-free approach to cycling better than constantly chasing and checking speed and resistance numbers.
Finally, Myx's touchscreen user interface is excellent: clean, responsive and easy to navigate. It's currently home to hundreds of classes (not just biking, but also weight training, meditation, yoga and so on), with more added weekly. Virtual trail rides are coming soon, according to a Myx representative.
Peloton and some other exercise bikes feel like they're about competition: stats, leaderboards and all that. If you don't want to compete but do want a great cycling experience paired with an extra-large screen, the Myx bike feels like a steal. It's sure to turn a lot of Peloton shoppers' heads.

You have to keep that subscription for three years, but this brings your total pocket cost to about 4,400. That’s what you have to pay before a lot of exercise bikes, and then you still pay a monthly fee.I have not tried Studio Bike Ltd myself, but it is very similar to the Nordic track S15. No wonder there: parent company Icon Health & Fitness has Nordic track and other form and iFit in other brands.
This exercise bike has a quiet flywheel, height-adjustable seat and handles, digital anti-slip systems, 3-pound hand weights and a 10-inch touchscreen that can be rotated 180 degrees in any direction - making it ideal for any off-bike class you want to take.
Speaking of classes, iFit here is similar to the iFit above. It not only helps with biking, but also high-intensity interval training, strength training, yoga and a variety of classes. Two things I particularly like: virtual rides (in which you follow your instructor on beautiful real-world trails) and "direct" resistance control, which means the instructor changes your bike's resistance settings during your class or ride.
